Do you want to change someone’s life?

“Working for Ashwell Home Care Services is like being part of a second family.  You are given plenty of time to offer the kind of care you would give to a member of your own family whilst being supported and adopted by the team here.  I would recommend them to anybody who is committed to helping provide care as it should be.”

Sarah, Care Companion at Ashwell Home Care Services

Come and join us and change people’s lives for the better. Our friendly and supportive team will help you to be able to achieve your goals. Whether you want to gain qualifications whilst working or need a career that fits around your family, we can help with our range of available home care jobs. We believe in valuing and respecting our employees, so all our roles are paid above industry average, and we offer a great range of perks, as well as a competitive salary.

We don’t believe in mediocre care; we believe in great care. We know that good care workers can change people’s lives. If that sounds like something that you want to be a part of, come and talk to us.

We don’t mind if you have never had any experience of health and social care jobs. We don’t mind if you have never had a job. We don’t mind if you aren’t sure what home care jobs entail, or what a home care worker does. We do mind that you are kind, hard-working, and compassionate. You don’t need any qualifications to be a home care worker. There is no qualification for kindness.

When you join the award-winning team Ashwell Home Care Services in one of our home care jobs, we make sure that you are ready before you start. We don’t believe that throwing people in at the deep end is a good way to teach them to swim. We also don’t believe that training time before you can begin to work should be unpaid. So, with us, your initial training to be a care assistant is paid, your shadow shifts are paid. The time we spend with you making sure that you are ready is all paid. So that when you do set off on your first shift, you don’t feel alone. You are trained and supported. You’ll know that we are just at the end of the phone to help you. But by then you won’t need us, because you will be fully trained and confident in your abilities to do a great job!

We want to change the way that care is delivered in the community. As part of this, we call all our employees who provide home care, our Care Companions. Old age is lonely. Often the only person one of our clients sees in the day is you. You are their companion, and we make sure that you have the time.

There are too many stories about bad care in the health and social care industry, about carers rushing frantically from job to job without the time to carry out their given tasks with respect and dignity. Indeed, if you have mentioned to a friend that you are thinking of applying to work with us, they may have told you horror stories about home care jobs. Don’t listen. That is not us. We don’t do rushing, we don’t do tight schedules, we don’t do ridiculous demands on our staff.

We pay for travel time between clients so that you don’t have to hurry. Time so that you can compose yourself and be ready for the next client. Our care appointments are scheduled so that you have time to spend with the client. Time for a chat, time for a cup of tea. Time to carry out your job with kindness, and respect. Nothing can be done well in a hurry. Compassion and support need time. We make sure you have this. And as part of our open-door policy, we encourage our Care Companions to tell us if they need more time with a client. We are human, we make mistakes. Come and tell us if you don’t have enough time. Our senior management are always around, always ready with a cup of tea and a listening ear.

We know that there are a lot of home care jobs out there, but be wary. Many seemingly well-paid home care jobs don’t pay travel time. Many don’t have perks and many don’t value their staff. When you come to us, you will be appreciated, respected, listened to, you will be supported and acknowledged. Oh, and you’ll be paid well!

If you want to change someone’s life, come to us. You might well discover that the life you change is your own…
